As long as you don't come expecting a luxury 5 star hotel, you can find the charm of this lovely little find (which we read about in an article in the Guardian!) We came to Mallorca all the way from Canada so were pleased to have experienced this place as part of our stay.According to Gabriner’s business partner, Laura Hernandez, a co-owner of Victoria SF, the new company was registered shortly after the staff moved out of La Victoria at 24th and Alabama streets. The area is really spectacular and we were really pleased to have spent 2 nights here. We loved the definite quiet of the park-like setting, and the fantastic drive up the long road through the park to the hotel, which are the best parts of this hotel. and if you keep your expectations fairly low and an open mind, you will find it a unique and lovely experience. But there is wifi and a decent-size breakfast. The bathrooms for instance are miniscule, certainly not large enough for more than 1 person to be in at a time. The place is church-owned, and used to be used for church retreats for members of the church, so is fairly spartan. Otherwise this is not a luxury hotel but very clean and unique. I would recommend arriving early in the day to request an upper floor room if you are wanting a double. We had requested a non-economy double and room with a view but arrived late at night and were disappointed to be left a key for a main floor non-view, tiny window room. The difference is in the size of the double rooms themselves and of the window size, which makes a big difference- on the main floor, there is only one tiny window like a porthole which does not allow for a view or much circulation of air. We booked a double room (as opposed to the 'economy double' room) and think there is definitely some randomness as to whether you are given a room on the top floor (which seem to be the NON-economy doubles) and one on the main floor (which seem to be the economy doubles). The scenery is wonderful and the views magical.… There is a good restaurant a two minute walk away. The availability of a kettle would be a benefit. You can even bring your own breakfast and cook later in the day. Fruit juice, tea and coffee are available. It is a continental style buffet including cereal, breads, meats, boiled eggs, cheese and cakes and more. The breakfast had a wide selection of dried and fresh fruits which varied from day to day. The ceiling fan turns the air which eventually cools but open the windows and if necessary a small mosquito net to cover it. The rooms are on the small side but adequate to our needs. She is the front desk and breakfast provider as well and though limited English is very helpful with information. The hotel is spotlessly clean thanks to Carmen who runs the place on a daily basis. It is quiet and remote so a car is useful. Formally for priests and then pilgrims in search of a peaceful contemplative setting it now has 13 rooms open to the public. A small hotel above a church set on the mountain side on the Alcudia peninsula. Stumbled across this browsing Travel Republic. Ended up having to walk 3 miles into Alcudia for food so we were not impressed. No she couldn’t - she had ‘computer work’ to do we tried pleading but she would not oblige. The woman running it was heading into the hotel so we asked her if she could serve us. One afternoon we went to get wine and pizza for our evening meal just after 16:00 to find it closed. However when we arrived there was a notice saying 17:00. There is a shop/cafe next to the property that is advertised as being open until 18:00. What lets this property down is the service. We had two lovely lunches there in March. There is also a kitchen you can use to prepare and cook your own food but given that there are 13 rooms in the property you might have to queue for the oven! There is a great restaurant next door (the Mirador) but it’s only open in the evening from May. The communal areas are nice with seating area and tv. Shower was good and there was always plenty of hot water. It was small and basic, not a ‘boutique hotel’ as I’ve seen it described but had everything we needed. Our room was on top floor with mountain views. Location great for walking as lots of trails straight from the door.
